In a meeting of stakeholders at Kampala Industrial Business Park in Namanve that was aimed promoting industrialization in Uganda, Lin said it is a great way of creating employment for the population as well as boosting economy.

Prof. Lin’s visit is part of UNDP’s support to Uganda to re-ignite the discussion on industrialization.

“Industrial parks are a great to reach high value markets through targeted production,” Prof. Lin said, adding that he is an advocate of using the industrial park model as a way of igniting industrialization.

Speaking at the function the UIA Executive Director Jolly Kaguhangire promised to develop the KIP and to protect the environment alongside the development of good waste management mechanisms in line with the government vision of 2020.
