Parliament has delegated six legislators to witness the trial of Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi in Gulu General Court Martial scheduled to sit tomorrow.
Robert Kyagulanyi was arrested yesterday along with Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake, Ntungamo Municipality MP Gerald Karuhanga, Jinja East MP Paul Mwiru, former MP Michael Mabikke, Fred Nyanzi, Candidate Kassiano Wadri, journalists and others.
Earlier Police displayed exhibits which included two SMG riffle guns that recovered from the Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu’s hotel room at Pacific hotel in Arua.
In a plenary session chaired by Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga, the first deputy prime minister Gen Moses Ali, told august house that the legislator was on Monday night smoked out of ceiling in his hotel room and transferred to military detention facility in Gulu before his admission to the regional referral hospital.
He revealed that the controversial MP who is currently under intense medical care is tomorrow slated to appear before the general court martial to grapple with treason charges and attempt to harm president Museveni.
Among the appointed MPs to represent Parliament in court include: Jovah Kamateka, Baryayanga Aja, Amule Ruth, Allan Ssewanyana, Medard Ssegon and Jacob Oboth Oboth to witness both the trial of MP Kyagulanyi in court martial and chief magistrate court in Gulu.
Earlier Parliament business came to standstill when the leader of opposition parliament Betty Ochan threatened that her members to leave parliament and hunt for their colleagues in the house declines to imply insatiable measures and pressurize government to explain the where a bout of the MPS.
