The National Unity Platform under the leadership of their party principal Hon Robert Kyagulanyi has launched nationwide fundraising for their party activities.
The fundraising is intended to solicit financial support from all party members and friends to help them go through the forthcoming general elections smoothly.
Robert Sentamu Kyagulanyi urges Ugandans to support the cause as one way of joining the struggle. Adding that there are those people who can’t be part of the struggle politically but they can give support to those who are involved in party activities.
He says they have been meeting many people on the way and they give them money as a support for the struggle, but now they have officially launched it so that whoever contributes can be recognized by the party.
According to Kyagulanyi, the activities that need support include, printing campaign posters, transport to transverse the whole country, airtime for media platforms among others.
Aisha Kabanda, the fundraising chairperson notes that, with the financial support, they will be able to run the party smoothly.
Kabanda says that people power has many people who would like to serve the party but they are unable because of various reasons. She says that by launching this cause, they are targeting whoever is willing to contribute to do so knowing that the party has officially embarked on it.

Kabanda says that all well-wishers can also contribute cars, and other material things that will help the party to succeed in its operations.
While commenting about President Museveni’s words on Arua case, Kyagulanyi announced that they shall use the words that President Museveni aired out while passing out the police recruits in Masindi in International Criminal Court (ICC).
President Museveni while speaking in Masindi at the Kabalye police training school at the function to pass out more than 4800 Police officers said, the Special Forces Command (SFC) soldiers were professional in handling the MP Kyagulanyi and his colleagues who had provoked them in Arua.
Speaking to Journalist at Party headquarters in Kamwokya today, Kyagulanyi who is also MP for Kyadondo East constituency said that president Museveni’s words have only helped to prove that the SFC soldiers tortured and abused the rights of the people in their custody to the extent of Killing his driver Yassin Kawuma. Adding that, the same words will be an evidence in ICC.
Kyagulanyi appealed to the security forces as the country heads to the heated election period, to desist from engaging in criminal activities of abusing human rights because the laws allow citizens to go after individual perpetrators of violence other than the institutions under which they serve.
