The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah was on Thursday afternoon denied opportunity to speak to the newly elected Members of Parliament at the NRM Kyankwanzi retreat.
Oulanyah’s presence was only announced by the Secretary General Kasule Lumumba and the Deputy Secretary General Richard Todwong.
Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda and President Museveni did not refer to Oulanya in their presentations. The opening ceremony ended without the deputy speaker being called in to even just greet the elected MPs.
Oulanya seems to be the only CEC member who attended the opening ceremony by the party chairman Museveni. Others like Mike Mukula, Godfrey Kiwanda, Rebecca Kadaga and others just sent their apologies.
