The Government Citizens Interaction Centre which was created to lead and enhance data-driven communication between the public and government institutions has been moved from the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance to the State House.
The outgoing Senior Presidential Press Secretary Mr Don Wanyama announced that the center will be under Ms Marcella Karekye, who has replaced Awel Uwihanganganye.
“Glad to announce that the Government Citizens Interaction Centre (GCIC) that was under the Ministry of ICT & National Guidance has now moved to State House Uganda, and will be headed by Ms Marcella Karekye, deputised by Mr Duncan Abigaba,” he said.
The unit is the government initiative established as a primary contact center to share information with the public on government programmes.
Ms Karekye takes over from Mr Uwihanganye who had been the pioneer head of the unit.
