President Yoweri Museveni has promoted the Director General of Internal Security Organisation Charles Oluka from the rank of Lieutenant Colonel to a rank of Colonel.
Museveni who is also the Commander in Chief of armed forces also promoted Deputy Director of ISO, Emmy Katabazi from the rank of Major to Lieutenant Colonel. Both Col. Oluka and Lt.Col. Katabazi were recently named DG and Deputy DG respectively
Also promoted are EK. Mwesigwa, the Director in charge of Special Operations in the office of the DG, Churchill Toyamba Director Legal, Alex Abenaitwe the Director in charge of Kampala Metropolitan and three other directors from the rank of Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel.
The promotion of the young talent at the spy agency is seen as part of the new strategy of promoting young and long serving cadres to ran the agency that was previously synonymous poor leadership.
President Museveni had earlier in the day promoted over 1,000 Uganda People Defence Forces officers to different ranks and this also comes just two days when he promoted several high ranking officers at the ranks of brigadier and Major Generals.
