At least 15 people are reported to have perished in the Kasese landslides. The deaths have been confirmed by the Uganda Red Cross Society.
The landslides ravaged the Kasese district following heavy rains that caused a landslide in Kasika village, Kigoro parish in Rukoki Sub County last night. So far 1 5 dead bodies recovered from the landside affected community as scores missing.
More than six people were injured, rescued, and referred to St. Paul’s Hospital, Kasese Municipality.
The death toll is likely to rise as the search for survivors goes on.
