The Court of Appeal has nullified the election of Taban Amin Jegejege as the Member of Parliament for Kibanda North constituency.
The petition challenging Jegejege’s election was filed by the former MP Sam Otada Amooti, who said the showy former President Idi Amin’s grandson was not a registered voter in the constituency.
And sitting today Court of Appeal judges Steven Kavuma (DCJ), Chebrion Barishaki and Paul Mugamba overruled an earlier ruling by Masindi High Court judge Elizabeth Nahamya, and threw out Jegejege, whose next move is now unpredictable given that he is not a registered voter in the area.
