Police has arrested Kyadondo East Independent candidate Bobi Wine, for allegedly trying to ‘breach peace.’
According to source, Bobi Wine, who is contesting in a by-election, defied orders to keep off Kasangati grounds where he was supposed to hold a rally today as per the Electoral Commission schedule.
This, the source said, was aimed at giving way for a rally by National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate Sitenda Sebalu, which will reportedly be attended by President Yoweri Museveni.
Further, the source said, Bobi Wine’s supporters also thronged the grounds in support of their candidate, forcing the police to disperse the crowds and arrest the singer-cum-politician.
Bobi Wine is contesting against Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) candidate Kantinti and NRM’s Sebalu, after the latter’s election was nullified by the Court of Appeal.
