Contribute towards improvement and modernization of Kampala-Jenifer Musisi

The Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Jenifer Musisi Semakula has called for contributions towards the improvement and modernization of Uganda’s capital city.

Musisi made the remarks after commissioning the newly refurbished comprehensive maternity unit at Kitebi Health Centre, funded by Indian Women Association.

“The Indian community has extended a big hand of help to the people of Kampala through many community initiatives, this is yet another, make a contribution however small it may be, results will be impactful,” she said.

Indian Women Association has rendered a hand in the refurbishment and renovation of various KCCA structures, like schools such as Kasubi church of Uganda and hospitals

She appreciated the Kitebi HC III staff members who have exhibited continues commitment to their work. The staff is exemplified by good score of 83 per cent in the Results-Based Financing for Health (RBF).

This Health Centre registers 420 deliveries per month on average translating into 15 mothers a day. I was delighted to interact with the =mothers and their newborns.

She revealed that the Authority is working to construct a theatre, labour suit, Infant special care unit, post-natal or family planning area, Immunization section, consultation rooms, and wards among others facilities to cater for the overwhelming numbers.

KCCA is the legal entity, established by the Ugandan Parliament that is responsible for the operations in Kampala the capital city of Uganda. It replaced the Kampala City Council (KCC) 2011.
