With the 2019/20 StarTimes Premier League season about to kickoff, Express football club have named their 28-man squad which will be used for this season’s games.
The squad consists of twenty-eight players; three goalkeepers, eleven defenders, eleven midfielders and three forwards.
Only five players from last season’s starting squad were retained. They are; Tony Kyamera, Mathias Muwanga, Disan Galiwango, Hamis Batenga and Lawrence Kigonya.
One foreigner is in the squad; Ghanaian defender Emmanuel Baffoe while former URA striker Frank Kalanda returns to the Uganda Premier League after his two-year stint in Rwanda’s AS Kigali.
The team will be managed by Head Coach George Ssimwogere, James Magala the Goalkeepeing coach and Hassan Mubiru the team trainer. Hamza Jjunju is the club’s CEO while Kiryowa Kiwanuka is the club chairman.
The Red Eagles finished tenth on the 16-table log with 40 points last season and open their new campaign with an away trip to FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru to play against the hosts BUL FC on Friday 30th August.
