Top security commandos last night raided several safe houses manned by the Internal Security Organization (ISO) and arrested ISO spies and their detainees.
A highly impeccable source has briefed Eagle Online that commandos raided several ISO safe houses and detained both ISO spies and their detainees.
The safe houses are based in different posh neighborhoods of Kampala.
The security source indicated that different ISO bosses are also lined up for investigation.
The security raid on ISO follows months of intrigue and turmoil at the country’s leading domestic spy agency.
Eagle Online understands that the arrests could be linked to a letter President Museveni wrote to Brig Kaka Bagyenda, the Director General of ISO.
In the highly classified letter, which was copied to Gen David Muhoozi, the Chief of Defense Forces(CDF),Gen Museveni warned the ISO boss about use of torture as a method of interrogation.
Gen Museveni told the ISO DG that under the NRA-turned UPDF, torture can not be used as a method of extracting information from suspects.
