Kampala, Uganda – 4 November 2026 — Housing Finance Bank (HFB) has officially partnered with Interswitch to expand access to everyday banking services for its customers nationwide. Through this strategic collaboration, HFB customers can now execute cash deposits, instant card-based cash withdrawals, and balance inquiries across Interswitch’s extensive network of over 23,000 Quickteller agents countrywide.

The partnership marks a significant milestone in the Bank’s alternative channels strategy—transforming local agent outlets into full-service HFB touchpoints, accelerating nationwide deposit mobilization, and bringing essential banking services directly into neighbourhoods where customers live, work, and do business.

Expanding Reach and Customer Convenience

By integrating with the Quickteller Agency Banking ecosystem, Housing Finance Bank significantly expands its operational footprint beyond traditional physical branches. Customers no longer need to travel to branch counters for daily banking, gaining access to seamless cash-in and cash-out capabilities with extended operational hours across urban centres, peri-urban zones, and rural trading areas.

Commenting on the launch, Robert K. Mugabe, Chief Operations Officer of Housing Finance Bank, said:

“Expanding access to banking services requires us to continually rethink how and where customers interact with their bank. Our partnership with Interswitch is an important step in this direction, as it extends our service reach through an established network of over 23,000 Quickteller agents across the country. By making cash deposits more accessible and providing convenient card-based withdrawal points, we are giving our customers greater flexibility while strengthening our alternative banking channels. This directly reinforces our commitment to driving financial inclusion and delivering responsive, customer-centric solutions.”

Driving Shared Value and Local Economic Growth

The integration delivers dual value: accelerating low-cost liability acquisition and card transactability for Housing Finance Bank while generating revenue streams for agent operators.

Moris Seguya, Country General Manager at Interswitch Uganda, noted:

“Our goal is to make financial services simpler, accessible, and more convenient for every Ugandan. Welcoming Housing Finance Bank to the Quickteller Agency Banking network is another important step toward achieving this. Their customers can now access full banking services at Quickteller agents across the country, while our agents gain new opportunities to grow their businesses. We believe partnerships like this create shared value—connecting people to essential services, supporting small businesses, and contributing to stronger local economies.”

How Customers Access the Service

HFB customers can visit any of the 23,000+ participating Quickteller agent locations nationwide to complete immediate transactions.

  • To Make a Cash Deposit: Customers simply provide their HFB Account Number, the Account Name, and the cash amount to the agent.
  • To Make a Cash Withdrawal: Customers present their HFB Debit Card at the Quickteller agent terminal and enter their secure 4-digit PIN to authorize the transaction.
  • To Check Account Balances: Customers insert/swipe their HFB Debit Card at the agent POS terminal to view real-time account balances.

Through this partnership, Housing Finance Bank and Interswitch continue to advance seamless, agent-powered banking across Uganda—closing the gap between communities and formal financial services.
