First Son Muhoozi Kainerugaba who was recently promoted from the rank of Brigadier to Major General has been officially decorated a two star General.
Maj Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s pipping was carried out by the Chief of Defence Forces General Katumba Wamala, assisted by the newly-promoted General’s wife, Charlotte Kainerugaba.
At the same pipping ceremony the former deputy Army Commander Joram Mugume, who was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General, was also decorated.
The decoration ceremony was held at Mbuya Army headquarters and among those promoted from Colonel to Brigadier were Charles Lutaaya, Stephen Muzeyi Sabiti and James Mugabe.

Who is Maj Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba
Gen Muhoozi was born on 24 April 1974 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to Mr and Mrs Museveni. His father, General Yoweri Museveni, has been President since 1986.
Maj Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba heads the Special Forces Command, which maintains the president’s security, and is considered to be one of the most powerful figures in the Ugandan military, which is one of the country’s most dominant institutions.
Muhoozi has been in the army since 1999 and trained at esteemed military centers including Sandhurst, the British Army’s prestigious military college, and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He was only made brigadier in 2012 and has enjoyed a rapid ascent through the military’s ranks.
