Over twenty copies of the video ‘The Journey of Uganda’ in which Australian-based Ugandan cardiologist Aggrey Kiyingi castigates the First Family, have been confiscated by the police.
Addressing the media on July 4, 2016 at the police headquarters in Naguru, Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga said 20 videos, allegedly produced by Dr Kiyingi’s Twerwaneko Group, were confiscated from areas like St Balikudembe, Kikuubo, Old and New Taxi Park and have been sent to the police cybercrime unit for further scrutiny.
Commissioner of Police Enanga said the video is also being examined to establish whether it was censored by the board at the Uganda Communications Commission, and that no one should view the film due to the alleged possession of ‘inappropriate content’.
‘Apparently, you cannot receive and share such video clips via any social media specifically whats app, maybe that’s why the trends of dissemination have changed to street vending in congested places like taxi parks and market places,” Enanga said and promised to keep the public informed about any ‘significant developments’.
