Uganda Civil Authority (CAA) has refuted claims that it had closed the Entebbe International Airport operations due to the early Friday murder of the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Andrew Felix Kaweesi.
This followed rumours on social media and other platforms that the CAA had closed its offices and that no planes were allowed in and out of Uganda because of the death of Kaweesi, the Police Spokesperson and Director of Human Resource.
However, this has been clarified by the CAA public relations office.
AIGP Kaweesi, was shot this morning a few meters from his home in Kulambiro on the outskirts of the city, as he was reportedly headed to the Uganda Christian University (UCU) in Mukono to address finalists.
Kaweesi was killed together with his bodyguard Kenneth Erau and driver Godfrey Wambewa by unidentified assassins riding a boda boda, and their bodies have been taken to city mortuary as investigations continue.
