Uganda Premier League champions Vipers Sports Club will start their 2020/2021 Caf Champions League campaign against Sudanese giants Al Hilal Omdurman FC in the preliminary round.
This was confirmed after the draws were held on Monday, 9th November 2020 in Cairo, Egypt at the Caf headquarters.
The fixtures have been confirmed by Caf to take place between November 27 and 29, 2020 in the first leg at St Mary’s stadium before a return leg slated between December 4 and 5, 2020 in Sudan.
Al Hilal is home to Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Salim Jamal Magoola.
In 2018, Vipers got past the preliminary stage defeating Sudan’s El Merriekh but lost to Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien in the next round and settled for the Caf Confederation Cup. They also lost to Algeria’s CS Constantine and missed out on the group stages.
KCCA FC, who will represent Uganda in the Caf Confederations Cup were exempted from the 2020/2021 CAF inter-club preliminary rounds thanks to their continental rankings. They will find out who they could potentially face in the next round.
