The National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has been arrested by Police at the Luuka District headquarter grounds where he had been scheduled to hold his campaign today.
According to police, Bobi Wine was holding a rally of more than 200 people which violates the Electoral Commission campaign rules and the Ministry of Health Standard Operating Procedures.
Several of Bobi Wine’s supporters were also blocked from accessing the rally venue by Police and were dispersed by teargas and live bullets.
“Upon reaching Jinja, Hon Kyagulanyi has been detained at the famous Nalufenya torture house,” Bobi Wine’s account tweeted.

The arrest of the presidential candidate was carried out by a group of counter terrorism commanded by Frank Mwesigwa.
