Voters in Kamwokya,a city suburb cheered and showed happiness upon seeing Muhammad Nsereko, the Kampala Central Member of Parliament amidst them.
Hon. Nsereko was meeting groups of women in Kamwokya, a home of his competitor Fred Nyanzi, aka Chairman Nyanzi the NUP candidate, on Sunday as part of his campaign trail. When he arrived, hundreds of residents gathered to waive to their Member of Parliament amidst ululation.
Residents assured Nsereko that whereas Kamwokya is a home of National Unity Platform-NUP, he should be aware that residents are behind him because he represents the views of common people and he has been there for them.
Nsereko told Kamwokya residents that they should be rest assured that he will be going back to represent his Kampala central people who are being affected by the laws which are meant to favour only the rich people.
He said he is still working with other fellow leaders to make sure that no one tries to grab any part of the land in Kamwokya. Adding that land grabbers have tried it several times.
Residents have requested him to also look for the solutions of the challenges which are affecting many people in Kamwokya like poor sanitation, unemployment, high crime rate among others. Farida Musengimaana requested that as step mothers, they have a challenge with educating their children yet there are government schools which also overcharge them.
Shafic Mukotomi and Sharif Magedi said their major challenges as Kamwokya residents are unemployment and poor sanitation. They said if their Member of Parliament solves those two challenges, all can be okay with them.
