There is relatively low voter turn up at the various polling stations in Kampala as people vote Lord Mayor, Directly Elected Councilors and Women Councilors for Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA).
Earlier, Incumbent and Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) flag bearer in the Kampala Mayoral race, Erias Lukwago and his wife turned up at Bulwa Polling station in Wakaliga to cast their ballots.
Speaking after casting his vote, Lukwago attributed the low voter turn up to Electoral Commission’s (EC) incompetence and irregularities in the presidential election that led to National Unity Platform’s (NUP) Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine being locked up in his own home.
“I hope the EC will not tamper with the results and they will declare me,” he said.
“Voters are tired of the elections processes, they have participated into various election circles and the outcomes don’t reflect their decisions just like in the concluded presidential elections where voters unanimously turned up and voted against president Museveni,” he said.
National Unity Platform (NUP) flag bearer for the city mayoral position, Nabila Naggayi Ssempala cast her vote at Katuuso Church of Uganda polling station earlier on.
