Uganda is set to receive the second batch of 175,200 #Covid-19 vaccine doses from the COVAX facility, a donation from French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
These will arrive on Wednesday 16th June 2021. Logistics of getting the vaccine into Uganda and around the country will be handled by UNICEF Uganda.
Through the Ministry of Health, Uganda received the first batch of 864,000 doses of the AstraZeneca #Covid-19 vaccine donations from COVAX facility on March 5.
To date, 803,797 have been vaccinated against #Covid-19 in Uganda according to the health ministry.
The arrival of the vaccines comes at a time when the country is running short of medical oxygen and experiencing an increase in the number of positive cases recorded daily during the second wave.
Uganda has of June 15 recorded 64,521 positive coronavirus cases and 459 deaths. 48, 480 have recovered.
