President Museveni has granted an official burial to Simon Peter Aleper, the former Member of Parliament for Moroto Municipality and NRM Vice Chairperson for Karamoja.
Simon Peter Aleper died instantly on July 23, 2024, following a road crash along Iganga- Tirinyi Road in Eastern Uganda.
The announcement has been made by Gloria Asio, Principal Private Secretary to the President in an address to the Prime Minister.
“This is to inform you that the President has directed that the government grants Simon Peter Aleper former Member of Parliament, who died in a motor accident, an official burial.
The Speaker Anita Among has called Members of Parliament for a special sitting tomorrow July 25, 2024, to pay tribute to former Moroto Municipality legislator.
The NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC) opened a condolence book at the party secretariat at plot 10, Kyadondo Road, for the general public to register their heartfelt messages.
