Joint security forces have rescued a diplomat at the Egyptian Embassy in Uganda who had been kidnapped by unknown individuals.
Muhammed Ali, 40, the commercial first secretary in the office of the deputy Ambassador of Egypt to Uganda unknowingly went missing on November 8.
Christopher Ddamulira, Director of Crime Intelligence has revealed that the diplomat was rescued today afternoon.
“Congratulations to the Joint Security Teams for a well-coordinated operation that has rescued a senior embassy diplomat this afternoon,” Ddamulira commended.
He added, “You have made us proud as a country.”
Ddamulira said that this is a reassurance to all Ugandans and all other people in the country that security forces will always do whatever possible to protect life and property.
He affirmed that the kidnappers should face the law.
