Over 2,000 students to graduate as Victoria University holds 9th ceremony at Speke Resort Munyonyo

Victoria University Uganda is set to host its 9th Graduation Ceremony on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Speke Resort Convention Centre, Munyonyo; a grand celebration of academic achievement and growth.

More than 2,500 students will graduate with degrees, diplomas and certificates in various disciplines marking a significant milestone in the university’s ongoing mission to produce skilled and innovative professionals ready for the job market.

In a statement shared on its social media platforms, the university expressed excitement about the forthcoming event and described it as a celebration of dedication, excellence and hard work.

“Victoria University is delighted to announce that our 9th Graduation Ceremony will be held on October 28 at the prestigious Speke Resort Convention Centre, Munyonyo,” the statement read.

Dr. Harriet Mimi Uwineza, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Chairperson of the Graduation Publicity Committee, said the day will highlight the hard work, dedication, and success of the graduands.

“Please join us as we honour excellence and create memories that last a lifetime,” she added.

Victoria University, founded in 2013, has steadily grown into one of Uganda’s leading private universities, offering a wide range of programs in business, engineering, humanities, law, education, and health sciences. Its 9th graduation reflects a decade-long journey of innovation, digital transformation, and academic excellence.

Excitement is already high among students and alumni.

Mugisha Isaac, one of the 2025 graduands, expressed his gratitude ahead of the big day:

“Excited to be part of the graduating class of 2025. Thank you for shaping our future! With God, all things are possible,” he said.

Others like Ssebadduka Trevor and Bernard Kwiringira Japhali shared congratulatory messages to their peers.

“Congratulations to all graduands,” Trevor said, while Kwiringira added, “Kudos to every stakeholder for making this journey possible.”

Barbie Taicy, another graduand, echoed the excitement,“The long-awaited date has finally been communicated,” she said, capturing the mood of many students preparing to don their academic regalia.

This year’s graduation will be held under the theme “Shaping the Future Innovation, Digitality & Employability,” reflecting the university’s focus on preparing graduates to thrive in an evolving digital and global economy.

Beyond celebrating academic success, the October 28 ceremony will reaffirm Victoria University’s commitment to nurturing globally competitive graduates who can drive Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.
