Maroons Football Club returned to Uganda’s top-tier League, Uganda Premier League (UPL) alongside The Saints with direct qualification from the Big League.
The two clubs toppled their respective groups (Rwenzori and Elgon) after Thursdays’ final day fixtures.
The Saints F.C edged Jinja Municipal Council 1-0 at the Nelson Mandela National stadium, to finish top of Rwenzori group, while Maroons also picked a narrow 0-1 away (in Masaka) against Synergy FC.
Ssali Musa scored the all-important goal on 22minutes for Coach Asaph Mwebaze side, who was a delighted man after the game.
‘My players got the result we were looking for but the pressure was on us to win and qualify. We are very happy to be back in the top flight’ said Mwebaze.

The battle now awaits a third side that will be decided via play offs, starting Wednesday 13th May 2015.
