Speaker of parliament Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga has ordered the Ministry of Internal Affairs to produce a statement on the continued arrest of Forum for Democratic Change strongman Dr.Kizza Besigye at this home.
In the same at parliamentary session today, MPs Barnabas Tinkasimire and Beatrice Anywar were among those who demanded for a full explanation on why the opposition figure (Besigye) remains under house arrest.
Junior Internal Affairs Minister James Baba told Parliament that police will remain at Besigye’s home as long as defiance campaign persists.
Besigye has been under house arrest for close to a week three weeks now. But police says he isn’t under house arrest but under preventative monitoring.
