NSSF for Carol Atuhirwe’s cancer treatment

National Social Security Fund will contribute to the cancer treatment fees for Ms Carol Atuhairwe, the executive Director Fund’s has revealed.

Speaking to EagleOnline, the Fund’s boss, Mr Richard Byarugaba, said the fund will join Ugandans in fundraising for Ms Carol to ensure that money for her treatment is raised.

Ms Carol, as the patient is now known, needs US$80,000 for her treatment in the USA

“Yes, we have joined other good Samaritans to lend a hand to this young lady in need. As workers fund, we identify with workers because they employ as and I am sure, Atuhirwe is a worker” Mr Byarugaba said.

Earlier in the Mr Charles Mwanguhya, a leading Journalists with NTV paid a visit to her at her home in Makindye where is bedridden. Ms Atuhirwe doesn’t take and only communicates through writing notes to whoever pays her a visit.

“I and Godbar Tumushabe visited Carol today, she is courageous and inspiring support any effort to revive her life” Mwanguhya wrote.

Mwanguhya was immediately joined by Mr Jotham Tarwmwa the Spokesperson of Electoral Commission who initiated fundraising drive on EC Media Centre Whatsup platform. And by close of the day, a sizable number of journalist and other members on the platform had contributed or pledged to rescue the needy lady.

Last week PR guru, Muherereza Kyamutetera plus family and friends of Ms Atuhirwe announced that they intend wash vehicles to Panamera bar along Lugogo bypass to help and raise fund for her treatment.
