The Electoral Commission has warned the public against what they say is increased masquerading city fraudsters to con the citizenry.
In the press release, the EC says some individuals are giving an impression that they work with the Electoral Commission for purposes of conning the public especially at this time when the country is gearing up for by-elections.
“The Electoral Commission has noted with concern an article that appeared in the Red Pepper Saturday July 9, 2016 under the headline, EC boss speaks out on MP nullifications. The article quoted a one Moses Kanaruchiko who claims to be an Inspector of Elections at EC headquarters on the reason for nullification of elections results” reads the statement from EC.
It further adds “The Electoral Commission wishes to state that the said Moses Kanaruchiko has never been a staff of the commission. Furthermore, the position of Inspector of Elections does not exist in the EC structure and Kanaruchiko business card is a forgery which has been designed to take advantage unsuspecting members of the public”
The EC says it strongly warns the public not to deal with the said suspect and any other person in the capacity of an officer of the Electoral Commission as such dealings will be done at individual’s own risk.
