Rose Seninde, the State Minister for Primary Education is expected to officiate as the chief guest and also to close the national music dance and drama festivals tomorrow Sunday September 11, 2016 at 02:00pm.
Forty six primary schools from 17 regions across the country have been showcasing their talent at Uganda National Cultural Centre since Monday September 5, 2016 in the annual Music, Dance, Drama and Poetry festival.
The theme for 2016 festival is “Stop Child marriages and poor nutrition for quality education”. Among the schools that have participated this year is Mugwanya Preparatory School Kabojja the 2015 defending champion.
The Activities include, set pieces, Instrumentals, Poetry, creative dances, traditional dances, plays and compositions among others.
The participants are competing for different prizes (Trophy’s and Shields) which include among others: Best performer, Best Items and Certificate of merit.
This year’s festival will be crowned by a concert showcasing best items tomorrow Sunday September 11, 2016 starting 02:00pm in the main auditorium. Entrance to the concert is Shs5000.
