Musician Jose Chameleon has paid tribute to his father-in-law, the late Fr. John Scalabrini, thanking him for the love and care he gave to his family.
In his tribute message, Chameleon describes Fr. John as a person who was both a father and friend to him.
“May the Almighty God have mercy on you as he strengthens us all. We shall always remember and pray for you. Thank you so much for love and care you shared with all of us. You gave all your life to us. Rest in peace Father Giovanni Scalabrini.”
Fr John, as he is popularly known, died on Tuesday morning at St Francis Hospital, Nsambya in Kampala.
He had been admitted to the hospital last Thursday. He had been battling cancer of the bone for the last five years.
He will be greatly remembered for founding kindergartens, schools and colleges, including Bishop Cipriano Kihangire Primary School and Bishop Cipriano S.S.S in Kampala. He was also a benefactor to thousands of needy children, especially orphans.
