The High Court has issued a warrant of arrest for Kawempe Kawempe South Member of Parliament Mubarak Munyagwa for failing to deposit Shs20 million as directed by court.
MP Munyagwa aka Muggatti gwa Bata had spent two weeks in Luzira Prison on remand, after being arrested on April 10 by Edward Kyalula of Alpha Court Bailiffs for failure to vacate a piece of land, Plot 509, block 205 Kyadondo, Kawempe division measuring 0.316 hectares, he sold to a one John Baptist Maali at 100m in 2005.
And last week Justice Flavia Anglin Senoga granted bail to Munyagwa after ordering him to make a down-payment of Shs.15m to Maali.
The MP was sent to prison by Execution Division Registrar Flavia Nassuna, and on release last week promised to pay all the balance by August 2.
