The former Minister of State for Economic Monitoring in the Office of the President Henry Banyenzaki has been appointed the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation at the Operation Wealth Creation (OWC).
According to a source, Banyenzaki and his team will be in charge of verifying all inputs procured and subsequently follow up the chain of production to ensure that all OWC-procured supplies are put to proper use.
Headed by General Caleb Akandwanaho aka Salim Saleh, OWC is currently a partial-civil-military outfit that was initiated by President Yoweri Museveni about 2 years ago to spur agricultural development in Uganda through the provision of agricultural inputs and services to farmers. At OWC Gen. Saleh is deputized by Lt. Gen. Charles Angina, the immediate former Deputy Chief of Defence Forces (D/CDF)
Meanwhile, prior to the OWC appointment, Banyenzaki, a former Member of Parliament representing Rubanda County West, tried his hand at the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) elections under the banner of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) earlier this year, but later withdrew from the race.
