Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) FC have today unveiled seven new signings at Namboole stadium ahead of the second round of the 2017/18 Azam Premier League season that starts on Saturday.
Among them is a former league golden boot winner, Herman Wasswa who scored 20 league goals during the 2012/13 season with KCCA before joining Kenyan Premier League side Sofoapaka.
The tax collectors are currently seventh with 20 points, 12 points behind the table leaders SC Villa.
URA start their campaign against Bul at Kakindu stadium in Jinja, a club coached by their former manager Kefa Kisala.
The head coach, Paul Nkata, who replaced Ibrahim Kirya in December last year, said he was delighted to have finally secured the services of the players.
“We are delighted to have finally secured the services of the above players and we believe that they have all the qualities to make an immediate impact at the club,” he said.
URA last won the league in 2010/11 season and they seek to strengthen the squad to challenge for the title.
“They are good acquisitions, and I hope that they add value in our tough campaign ahead.” He added.
