Arsenal have reportedly agreed to appoint former PSG manager Unai Emery as their new manager to replace Wenger with official announcement expected later this week.
Wenger left the Gunners at the end of season after 22 years in charge, during which he won three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups, including two Doubles.
The recruitment process led by the Arsenal board came up with Emery as the favourite over Former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique, Massimiliano Allegri, Carlo Ancelotti, Mikel Arteta, Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira.
Emery left his job at PSG earlier this month after he failed to fulfill the club’s ambition of winning the Champions league.
However, the 46-year-old led the French Ligue 1 side to a domestic treble in his second season, but did not have his two-year contract extended and was replaced by Thomas Tuchel.
He led Sevilla to three successive Europa League trophies from 2014 to 2016, won the Ligue 1 and four domestic trophies with PSG in two years.
The Spaniard has gone on to take charge at Almería, Valencia, Spartak Moscow, Sevilla and, most recently, PSG.
Manchester City assistant manager and former Gunners captain Mikel Arteta was a strong favourite to succeed Arsene Wenger but opted out due to the club’s tight transfer policy.
