Must read

Uganda Cranes today start off their Cameroon 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign in Ouagadougou against Burkina Faso at the Stade du 4 Aout.

Head Coach Johnathan McKinstry will be hoping for a positive start from the team before facing Malawi four days later in the second match day in Kampala.

In the previous five meetings between these two countries, Burkina Faso has won twice, Uganda Cranes has one win and two draws.

Uganda’s last match in Burkina Faso in March 2016 ended in a 1-0 defeat with a Jonathan Pitroipa penalty in the 60th minute.

The Cranes are looking for the third straight appearance at the prestigious Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals, after appearing in 2017 Gabon and Egypt 2019.

Malawi will play host to South Sudan in the other group B fixture at Kamuzu stadium.

Overall, there are 12 groups and the winners and runners-up from each group will qualify for the 2021 AFCON tournament.
