Provisional results indicate that the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanya is leading the race in Central Executive Committee (CEC) elections organized to have the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Vice Chairman for Northern Uganda.
Former Tororo Municipality Member of Parliament Sanjay Tana is also leading hid political opponent Mike Mukula who is also the incumbent for Eastern Region.
He was competing against the incumbent Sam Engola, Odong Samuel and Jokkene Timothy. In Bunyangabu Odong polled zero votes, Oulanyah 52 votes, Engola one vote and Jokkene one vote.
The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga is currently rocking horns with the State Minister for Lands Persis Namuganza. The two are vying for the female national vice chairperson of CEC.
Kalangala District preliminary results indicate that Kadaga polled nine votes against Namuganza 41 votes. In Buvuma District Kadaga garnered seven votes while Namuganza 43 votes. Kadaga is leading in Tororo district
Namuganza is leading with 81 votes and 60 votes in Nebbi and Zombo District respectively as Kadaga got seven and 10 votes.
