Frank Gashumba’s wife, Patience Malaika Mutoni, has graduated with a Master of Business Administration (MBA), specialising in Human Resource Management from Victoria University in Kampala.

Mutoni received her postgraduate qualification during the university’s 10th graduation ceremony held at Speke Resort Convention Centre in Munyonyo on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, joining thousands of graduands celebrating the completion of their studies.

She shared her excitement over the achievement, crediting hard work, perseverance and prayer for helping her reach the milestone.

“Officially a Master of Business Administration graduate specialising in Human Resource Management. All glory to God,” Mutoni said in a message celebrating her graduation.

She also reflected on the effort behind the achievement, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to complete the programme and earn the qualification.

“She worked so hard, persevered, prayed and today she celebrates the achievement she worked so hard for,” she wrote.

The MBA adds to Mutoni’s academic qualifications in a field that focuses on managing people, improving workplace performance and developing effective human resource strategies in organisations.

Her graduation comes as Victoria University continues to expand its academic programmes and promote practical education aimed at preparing graduates for the demands of the modern workplace.

The two day ceremony, held on October 19 and 20, brought together approximately 2,600 graduands receiving certificates, diplomas, undergraduate degrees and postgraduate qualifications across several academic disciplines.

The first day featured graduates from the Faculties of Science and Technology and Health Sciences, while the second day focused on the Faculties of Business and Management and Humanities and Social Sciences.

Other notable graduates included Martin Beta, the manager of musician and Uganda National Musicians Federation president Eddy Kenzo, as well as Next Media photographer Francis Isano, who graduated with a master’s degree in Diplomacy and Global Studies.

University leaders used the occasion to encourage graduates to embrace technological innovation, particularly artificial intelligence, and continue developing skills that can help them remain competitive in a changing employment market.

Mutoni’s achievement adds a personal milestone to the family life of Gashumba, a prominent businessman and social commentator who frequently features in Uganda’s public debates.

Victoria University, which is part of the Ruparelia Group, has positioned work integrated learning, practical skills and technology driven education among its priorities as it prepares students for professional careers.
