Award-winning vocalist, Lilian Mbabazi better known by her stage name as Lilian and her Sundowners band has been unveiled as the headline artist for this year’s edition of the Uganda Vintage and Classic Show on Saturday at Sheraton Hotel, Kampala.
“I am so excited to be performing at the fifth edition of the Vintage Car show and I’m truly honoured to be invited to headline this event,” Lilian told EagleOnline when contacted about her upcoming gig.
Lilian has promised a massive performance to all who will be at the car show that doubles as a family experience.
The annual event that is a magnet for many Kampalans celebrates people who are passionate about cars and the history behind these cars.
Dr John B. Niwagaba, chairman, Uganda Vintage and Classic Auto Show said they were proud to be hosting Lilian who is arguably one of the top family entertainers in the region.
“Lilian is a musician who is on top of her game in contemporary music in East Africa. She leads the pack of Afro-pop and jazz divas on the region and her resume as a family entertainer musician speaks volumes about her repertoire,” he said.
According to the organizers, there will be a good mix of the newly imported vintage and classic cars as well as the perfectly maintained or restored models. There will also be fun-filled activities, a children’s play area, a food court and hospitality tents with lots of bites and drinks as well as fun games.
Ahead of the Vintage and Classic auto show, there will be a snail trail drive through town tomorrow Friday, 29th July. Over 80 cars that will be showcased at the show will drive through the streets of Kampala to give people a sneak peak of what they should expect. The cars will set off from Mogas Petrol station, Kireka and the final destination will be Sheraton.
