Following a four year hiatus, the Club Music Video Awards are back.
But unlike the previous edition where artistes yearned to get a node in the awards, it appears many have lost interest in the same with time.
Among those who are not interested include Bebe Cool and the latest to reject the awards is Queen Sheebah.
The ‘Kisasi Kimu’ hit maker who was among the most nominated artistes, with three nods revealed she isn’t interested in the awards the very reason she hadn’t submitted in her video.
Through her Manager Allan Kiwa, he said the awards were not worthy the efforts and money they invested in their projects (music videos).
“Having put into consideration how much work, effort, money and sleepless nights that go in to bring out projects, we clearly understood the amount of shade being thrown at our work with these nominations. Therefore, we as the management team behind Sheebah Karungi choose to exit the CMVA,” he writes in a post on Instagram.
He further threatened to sue the organisers if they don’t heed to their request and withdraw Sheebah from the awards.
“We kindly advise that you comply to our request before we seek legal advice,” he added.
This came just hours after Bebe Cool, who had two nods in the awards made the same request. The organisers, indeed granted his request and withdrew him.
