Late goals from Young won Kim and Son Heung min in Kazan were enough to deny the reigning champions an attempt to defend the title.
Though South Korea didn’t go through to the knock-out stages, the win is the first in their history against Germany.

In the other Group F match, Sweden defeated Mexico 3-0 to advance on top of the group meaning Mexico also advanced thanks to the South Korean victory.
