SC Villa declares City Oil owner Omar Mandela unopposed for presidency

Must read

SC Villa Jogoo opened their nomination process for interested people to become the club’s president. Two individuals; City Oil proprietor Hajji Omar Ahmed Mandela and Farouq Mewya picked the nomination forms.

Mandela, who is the owner of Mandela group of companies, announced his presidential bid last Monday and has been the only successful candidate after the closure of nominations. Mr. Farouq Mewya returned the forms incomplete making him ineligible to contest.

“Mr Farouq Meywa returned incomplete nomination forms” Villa Electoral Committee chairman Isaac Walukaga wrote in a statement to the Villa Trust Members.

It added; “For this reason, we only have one individual who has satisfied the requirements to participate in the club’s elections.”

Meywa had requested for some more time to rectify what was missing with his nomination papers but this was rejected by the committee who cited that time was not on their side.

With Meywa now out of the race, it is all clear that Mandela will be declared the next President of SC Villa on 13th November 2021.

Mandela announced his executive of; Daniel Bakaki, Hajji Salim Semanda, Engineer Ben Missaga and Mohammed Bazirengedde.

From 2018 to date, SC Villa has be run by an interim committee headed by Eng. William Nkemba when Eng. Ben Immanuel Misagga threw in the towel.
