KCCA FC complete first ever domestic double

Must read

Kampala Capital City Authority FC has won the 2017 Uganda Cup with a resounding 2-0 performance over Paidha Black Angels.

This is their 9th title at the Green Light stadium on Thursday evening.

The Kasasiro boys sealed the elusive double after they outplayed the Zombo-based side with scoring a goal in either half in the 43rd edition of the Cup.

League top scorer Geoffrey Sserunkuuma opened the scoring in the 10th minute to give KCCA an early lead.

While Derrick Nsibambi doubled the lead with a looping effort to beat the Paidha keeper 12 minutes inside the second half to put him on 8 goals.

The win now takes KCCA on same level with URA (9) trophies, one less than Express FC (10).

Mike Mutebi’s UPL champions now join rivals SC Villa and Express on the list of clubs to win the league and Uganda Cup double in the history of Ugandan football.

KCCA’s Derrick Nsibambi finished as the current top scorer of the Uganda Cup with 8 goals.
